Why 23 Years of Experience Matter More Than the Name of a Large Real Estate Agency

When preparing to sell a property, it may seem that choosing a large, well-known real estate agency is the safest option. An established name inspires confidence and often comes with professional tools and an extensive network. But when selling your home, there is another important question worth asking: Who will actually be handling my property sale?
I have worked as a real estate agent since 2003, spending most of those years at Domus Kinnisvara. Those 23 years gave me a great deal: opportunities to learn, grow professionally, and help people complete more than 1,000 real estate transactions. I am genuinely grateful for that experience.
Today, I run my own real estate agency, Rovera Estate. I have brought with me everything I have learned over the years, while gaining the freedom to make my approach even more personal.
Experience Means Looking Beyond the Property Listing
A successful property sale does not begin with rushing to publish an advertisement on a property portal. The first step is understanding the seller’s circumstances, the property’s strengths, and the questions potential buyers may have. Only then can we determine the most appropriate asking price, presentation, and sales strategy for that particular property.
Over the years, I have experienced both quick sales and transactions that required patience, precision, and the ability to resolve complicated situations. Experience does not mean having every answer in advance. It means knowing which questions to ask at the right time, recognising potential risks, and involving the right specialists when necessary.
Every Seller Needs Someone They Can Call
For many people, a real estate transaction is one of the most significant decisions of their lives. It may involve moving home, beginning a new chapter, selling an inherited property, or simply deciding that it is time to move on. In these situations, knowing who is standing by your side makes all the difference.
When you work with me, you communicate directly with the person who knows your property and manages the entire sales process. I know what we have agreed upon, what feedback potential buyers have provided, and what the next step should be. If something needs to change, we can discuss it and make decisions together.
For me, being a good real estate agent also means being honest. If the asking price needs adjusting or a property’s shortcomings must be clearly disclosed to potential buyers, I will say so openly. Trust is built by addressing important matters at the right time.
Presentation Must Serve a Purpose
Professional photography, drone footage, and virtual tours are valuable tools for showcasing a property. I use them whenever they help potential buyers gain a better understanding of what a property has to offer. However, even the most beautiful photographs cannot replace a well-considered pricing strategy, accurate information, or effective communication with interested buyers.
Every home is different. For some properties, natural light and layout deserve particular attention. For others, the location, surrounding amenities, or unique characteristics of the property may be the strongest selling points. Equally important is being prepared to answer buyers’ questions and keeping the seller informed throughout the process.
A Recognisable Name Opens Doors. Good Work Builds Trust.
A large real estate agency may have a strong and respected brand. Having worked for such an agency myself, I fully appreciate its value. Ultimately, however, the client’s experience is shaped by the individual agent they work with: how thoroughly that person understands the property, how clearly they communicate, and how carefully they guide the transaction through to completion.
That is why I believe 23 years of experience represent much more than a number in my professional introduction. They reflect the ability to listen, notice important details, and take action even when a sale does not go exactly according to the original plan.
If you are considering selling your property, let’s begin by discussing your goals and opportunities. Together, we can decide on a thoughtful and effective approach to selling your property.
